Pea Ridge

One Saturday Brad and I took our bikes out to Pea Ridge National Military Park. I didn't even know that the Civil War had really been in Arkansas, but it was! They had a lot of battlefields and outlook posts. Supposedly this was like a 7 mile loop so we got just under half way (we assumed) when Brad's gears decided to start skipping and got jammed! We tried everything to get it out, but alas were unsuccessful.... We walked to the top of the next hill to see if we could see how much longer we had, but all we saw was forest. So we decided to turn around and coast when we could, or ride the bike like a scooter.
The actual Trail of Tears that the Indians walked on! Amazing that they were here and walked SO far! I believe some were Brad's ancestors too according to Grandma Christensen. (Pocahontas)Here Brad is on the Trail, we couldn't believe how thick the forest was. It really looked like Pocahontas running through the trees, dodging left and right! haha, at least that's what I imagined. Brad also got 2 ticks on his leg just from touching a little bush. Gross!!We rode right past this cute little foxy, just basking in the sun! :) I wanted to take him home but Brad said the fox's mom was probably around and would come attack us if we stayed too long. booo :(Some of the old cannons with Brad demonstrating how they were used. Some of the Battlefields were HUGE!! After that is when the broken bike happened so we stopped taking pictures. :) What a great Adventure!!

Family Buffoonery

Over the fourth of July weekend Tori and Connor came out for a visit! We had such a great time and did so many things! Here's some pictures of their visit:We had fourth of July crepes, and played in the rain (of course)
We went to Eureka Springs and explored the crescent hotel, Christ of the Ozarks, 2 of the natural springs, and stopped at this awesome space van on our way home. :)
Tori and I made a mess in the kitchen, ate foil dinners, Andy's Custard, and we could finally play all of our board games and other card games with them! Finally able to take Church pictures.Tori and I went and did some BMX, cause were Intense like that. The picture of Tori is right after she did a Superman! INTENSE! We went to the Baptist Church that has these 3 HUGE crosses!!! The triangle is their font, you step down into it, 'twas very interesting; and all the water was dyed blue!! Very pretty though. :)

We were so grateful they were able to come and spend some time with us! Thanks guys! :) Words can't even explain what a blast it was for them to be here!

Run run as fast as you can, can't catch him it's my Manly Man!!!

Brad actually went running just to run!!!!!!! When my siblings came to down we felt like going on a run to a school to play basketball (the school is 1.3 miles away). Since the end objective was Basketball Brad was considering going with us but was going to drive...what a wimp! After a lengthy battle we finally talked him into it. He surprisingly did pretty good, if you ask him how fast he ran it he'll tell you 4 min. what a dork. The run back was a lot harder for him, luckily he had a basketball to dribble, it was the only thing that got him through the run. This is a picture of us after the run, don't mind the sweat :} I always feel great after a run but Brad said he thought he was going to die, you can tell how happy he was in the picture. Hopefully this is just the first of many runs we'll have together. We plan to do a family marathon in Hong Kong on the great wall of China next May! (Brad doesn't know yet) jk, but seriously how sweet would that be!?!?

Minesweeper

Brad and I live a pretty simple life; filled with work, together time, and minesweeper; until recently... We DEFEATED the advanced level of the game. All our spare time was spent attempting again and again to win. We tried about 15 times; even getting down to 6 or 1 mines left!!!!! (those were dissappointing games...) Ah, there it is, the proof that we defeated this game. :) Any ideas for what we can do next are welcome.
